A Bespoke Green Kitchen: Traditional Style with a Twist

Not every kitchen has to be white, grey or wood-effect. Sometimes, choosing something a little different is what makes a room feel like home. This recently completed green kitchen is a great example of how bespoke carpentry lets you create a space that reflects your own style, rather than having to settle for what's available off the shelf.

Green might not be the colour you'd expect to see in a traditional kitchen, but we think it works brilliantly here. The classic design gives the kitchen a timeless feel, while the colour adds personality and makes it a real feature of the home.

A Traditional Kitchen with a Different Look

We build all sorts of kitchens at FP Furniture, from timeless wooden designs to modern, minimalist spaces. This project was a little different to many of the kitchens we create, and that's exactly what makes it so interesting.

The traditional styling gives the kitchen a familiar, classic look, but the green finish brings something fresh to the design. Rather than sticking to neutral colours, the customer chose a shade that complements their home and reflects their personal taste.

It's a great reminder that a kitchen doesn't have to follow the latest trends to look fantastic. The best designs are often the ones that suit the people living in the house, whether that's a classic cream kitchen, natural wood cabinetry or something a little bolder.

And that's one of the biggest advantages of having a kitchen made specifically for you. You're not restricted to a handful of colours or standard designs. You can choose the look you love and create something that feels right for your home.

Made to Measure, Made by Us

For this project, we built the kitchen ourselves using moisture-resistant MDF (MR MDF). This is a useful material for kitchen cabinetry because it offers a smooth, consistent surface that's well suited to painting and finishing.

Using MR MDF also gives us the flexibility to create bespoke cabinetry to suit the design, rather than having to work around standard sizes and ready-made units. This means we can make the most of the available space and create a kitchen that works for the room as well as looking the part.

As a family-run carpentry business, we take pride in making things ourselves and paying attention to the details. From getting the proportions right to ensuring the finished design comes together as intended, we want every kitchen we build to feel carefully considered.

With more than 30 years of experience in handcrafted furniture and carpentry, we've seen how much difference a well-designed kitchen can make to a home. It's not just about having somewhere to cook; it's about creating a room you'll enjoy spending time in every day.
