Handcrafted Hallway Cupboard – Built to Last

We recently completed this bespoke hallway cupboard for a customer looking to make better use of their space while keeping things clean and practical.

The carcasses were built using MDF, which is ideal for durability - especially in areas like hallways where temperature and humidity can fluctuate. It gives a solid, stable structure that won’t warp over time.

For the fronts and doors, the customer went with a popular cream finish. A great choice; it gives a smooth, consistent finish. Everything was built to suit the customer’s space, keeping the look sharp but still in keeping with the rest of the home.

The top is solid oak, which adds a bit of warmth and contrast against the cream finish. It’s not just about looks either - it’s hard-wearing and will stand up to everyday use, whether that’s keys, bags, or general hallway clutter.

All doors were fitted with soft-close hinges, so they shut properly without slamming. A small detail, but it makes a big difference day-to-day.

Overall, it’s a simple, well-built piece that does exactly what it should: adds storage, looks right in the space, and will last for years.
