Oak Bookcases Designed to Frame a Beautiful Living Space

One of our recent projects involved creating a pair of bespoke oak bookcases fitted either side of an open-plan room entrance - a simple idea that completely transformed the space.

The home itself had a warm, modern feel with plenty of character, featuring sunny yellow walls, natural oak flooring, and lots of light flowing through the open-plan layout. The aim was to create something practical that also felt like a natural part of the home, rather than simply adding storage.

By fitting matching oak bookcases on either side of the entrance, we were able to subtly frame the room while keeping the open feel intact. The natural oak tones tied in perfectly with the wooden flooring, adding warmth and texture while complementing the brighter wall colour beautifully.

The finished bookcases provide plenty of space for books, plants, artwork, and personal touches, helping the room feel even more lived-in and welcoming. One of the things we love most about bespoke furniture is how it can add both function and personality to a home, and this project was a great example of that balance.
